1. Who We Are
Marta Voice is a real-time voice communication platform. When we refer to "Marta Voice", "we", "us" or "our" in this policy, we mean the operators of this service. If you have any questions about this policy, please contact us through the contact form on our homepage.
2. Data We Collect
We collect the minimum data necessary to provide the service:
- Account information — username, email address, and hashed password when you register.
- Profile data — optional avatar image you choose to upload.
- Messages — text messages sent in channels and direct messages.
- Usage data — session information, last-seen timestamps, and presence signals needed to operate voice and messaging features.
- Technical data — IP address (stored with contact form submissions and used for rate limiting).
We do not record or store voice audio. Voice calls are peer-to-peer via WebRTC.
3. How We Use Your Data
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- To deliver messages, voice channel presence, and notifications.
- To enforce rate limits and protect the service from abuse.
- To respond to contact form submissions.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Data Retention
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may request account deletion at any time via Settings → Deactivate Account. Upon deactivation, your session tokens are immediately invalidated. Residual data (e.g. messages in shared channels) may remain visible to other participants unless explicitly deleted beforehand.
5. Security
Passwords are hashed with bcrypt and never stored in plain text. Sessions use HttpOnly, Secure, and SameSite=Strict cookies. We apply CSRF protection on all state-changing requests and rate limiting on sensitive actions. HSTS is enforced for all connections.
6. Cookies
We use only essential cookies:
- Session cookie — keeps you logged in during your visit.
- Remember-me token — optional persistent login (only set if you choose "remember me").
We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking scripts.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data via the Settings page.
- Delete your account and associated data.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
To exercise any of these rights, use the contact form.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
